New national women’s doubles coach Mohd Zakari Abdul Latif aims to close the gap on top pair Pearly Tan-Am. Thinah and produce another distinctive combination within two years.
New National women’s doubles coach Mohammad Zakari Abdul Latif has set a clear two-year target to produce another world-class combination.
They aim to bridge the significant gap between the current national pairings and the established elite pairing of Pearly Tan and M. Thinah.
“As far as I can see, our current women’s doubles shuttlers have potential,” Jackery said after her first training session.
He expressed confidence that several emerging pairs could develop into the next top combination.
He said, “I believe that in a year or two, Insya-Allah, we will have the next Parli-Thinah.”
Jakri is one of several new coaches appointed by the Badminton Association of Malaysia to strengthen the national team’s lineup.
He admitted that he was thrilled to rejoin BAM after an absence of 15 years.
However, his return comes with a different set of responsibilities and a new coaching role.
