A Peruvian police officer dressed as the fiery and green-haired villain Grinch busted suspected drug traffickers in the South American country’s capital just days before Christmas.
The operation in San Bartolo in Lima resulted in the arrest of three suspects, according to a video posted online by the Peruvian National Police.
A police post on X said, “In a simple operation, Green Squad agents arrested alleged members of the La Mafia de San Bartolo gang dedicated to drug dealing, nicknamed La Reina del Sur, La Coneja and Pote. ” “Various narcotics were seized.”

Using a sledgehammer, the officer walked across the street dressed as the infamous Christmas villain with the little heart before breaking and entering the front door of a home, according to video footage.
The suspects were arrested, and the “Grinch” was seen rummaging through various items in the house, before finding what authorities said were illegal drugs and other items related to drug trafficking.

According to the State Department, Peru is the second largest producer of cocaine and coca planter in the world.
The State Department website states, “Most of the cocaine produced in Peru is transported to South American countries for domestic consumption or for onward shipment to Europe, the United States, East Asia, and Mexico.”
Peru’s national police force has conducted similar operations in the past.
