San Francisco 49ers defensive lineman Taron Jackson fell on the ground and was taken to the hospital in an ambulance at the end of the Sunday training camp session.
After the practice, 49ers head coach Kail Shahhanhan assured reporters that former Carolina Panther was conscious.
Shahanhan said, “At the end with Taron Jackson, always scary when someone gets down on the stretcher,” Shahanhan said. “But just let you tell people, he is conscious, inside communicating with us, can feel all his extremes, and they are taking him to Stanford for further testing. So hopefully, we have cleaned the real scary goods, and hope that we will get some good news on his neck.”
According to reports, Jackson went down after being blocked during the 11 -on -11 drill.
“This is always difficult in that way and especially when people see,” Shahanhan said. “We were close to him, so we could listen to him while talking, we could see everything going on, so I just told people that, who I think they think it has become a little easier for the biggest fears, and asked him if he continues to go. They all shouted ‘yes,’ and then we finished our last period and a half.”
Jackson signed with the practice squad of 49ers in January. He has first stent with eagles and panthers.
