At least 89 Christians have been slaughtered by jihadis in the east of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). Open doors, which monitor Christian oppression worldwide, claimed that some 70 were killed while worshiping in a funeral service, in which the rest were killed in the villages of Potodu and Antio in North Kivu region of DRC.
Many more villagers are missing. The US -based site Intelligence Group, which monitored militant activities, said that Reuters had contacted 100 from the death toll.
The responsibility for the attack was claimed by the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) Group, also known as the province of Islamic State Central Africa, which was associated with ISIS – the same group that allegedly killed 49 Christians, while they were praying for peace in DRC village in Komanda in July, and a more 66 in Eramu.

A local pastor, Rev. Mabula Samakki told an open door partner from the spot: “They arrived and started killing. The people who tried to escape, were shot and killed, and others were killed with a match.”

President Donald Trump announced a peace agreement for DRC in June. But local fighters, sources, say, only the eastern city appears ready to work in the area around Goma. Conversely, ADF is increasing its attacks. This region is almost particularly Christian. The ADF attackers are all Islamist terrorists, observers say that Christians are determined to remove them from their land and to prevent Christians from practicing their trust.
The DRC force is trying to push back against ADF. But as a local source told Fox News Digital, “It is largely insufficient.”
Following last month’s attack, a White House spokesperson condemned Fox News Digital, “The Trump administration condemned the horrific violence against Christians in the strongest terms and Washington is committed to carrying on the Washington Agreement to bring peace in the region and end the target killings.”

A Christian leader with on-the-gounds knowledge said, “If the Trump administration can pay attention to what is happening in the east of the DRC with ADF, as they do, perhaps with other countries like Ukraine, I think they can put pressure on the DRC government and even support them to address these AdF attacks.”
“If these people, these powers, and the things that can change, can see it as a family, as a child whose father no longer live. If they can only see it as people, no number, these are not incidents, then these are people. It is like this. It is at least worth talking.
