- AXIOM Mission 4 (AX-4) successfully completed the 18-day mission for the International Space Station (ISS).
- The mission consisted of astronauts from India, Poland and Hungary for the first time in more than 40 years.
- More than 60 scientific examinations were conducted during the mission.
- AX-4 supports changes towards commercial space operations.
On July 14, at 7:15 am, the crew of Axiom Mission 4 (AX-4) wrapped the 18-day migration, specified from the International Space Station, marked a new milestone in the commercial and international international fields.
Team – Under the leadership of veteran NASA’s astronaut and current Axiom Space Human Spaceflight Director Paigi Whitson – the next day fell down in the Pacific Ocean on the banks of California at 5:31 pm. According to the July 15 NASA press release, the SpaceX Dragon Capsule Grace, SpaceX Dragon Capsule was rapidly recovered by Grace, SpaceX Vessels, which concludes the symbol of the new era of the spaceflight.
On 25 June, a SpaceX was launched from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center with a Falcon 9 rocket, the fourth private astronaut mission of X -4 Xiom was the ISS supported by NASA. This reflected the agency’s ongoing push to transition commercial providers to infection low-ancient classroom operations, freeing resources to the Moon for Artemis missions.
The AX-4 crew included India’s Sukhanshu Shukla, Solozo Uznoski-Inevski of Poland and Tibor Kapu-Articles in Hungary’s Tibor-Articles for the first time. For the three countries, it was his first government-contained human spaceflight participation over 40 years. Shukla’s presence fulfilled a long -term planned cooperation between NASA and ISRO, a building on the pledge by President Trump and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
“What is possible through the AX-4 mission commercial place is a powerful performance,” AXIOM Space CEO Tejpall Bhatia said. “By enabling astronauts from India, Poland and Hungary to complete scientific research at the space station, we are supporting these countries in their contribution to the human spaceflight.”
During its time in the orbiting lab, the AX-4 astronauts conducted more than 60 scientific examinations in areas including life science, material science, earth observation and technology development. Five of these studies were joint efforts between NASA and ISRO. The mission also included educational outreach, in which the crew participated in more than 20 public events targeting students, researchers and interested space professionals in 31 countries.
The AX-4 is part of the large strategy of Axiom Space for raising access to space and laying groundwork for the company’s employed commercial successor Axiom station for ISS.
