Beijing: The military naval fighter jet crashed during a training exercise on Saturday, but its pilot successfully expelled from the aircraft, the army said.
Fighter jet, from the Southern Theater Command of the Chinese Army, crashed into an open area in the Southern Island province of Hainan, the Navy said in a statement on social media.
The Southern Command oversees some of the most sensitive areas of the country including the South China Sea, where in recent years there has been a group of violent clashes between the disputed rocks and the islands in the region between Chinese and Philippine ships.
The statement said, “The pilot successfully evicted, and there was no collateral damage on the ground.”
The cause of the accident has been initiated and is organizing efforts to handle after the Navy.
China has demanded an expansion of its presence in seas of sea competition over the years, separating an international decision that it claims to be a legal basis for most waterways.
In recent months, Beijing has more strongly claimed its regional claims in the South China Sea, where countries like Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines are defending their own claims.
Last month, the Philippine Coast Guard condemned a “dangerous” maneuver by a Chinese Navy helicopter, stating that it was flown within the meter of a surveillance flight, carrying a group of journalists on the scarborough shole.
