Exiled Iranian Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi said Saturday he is ready to lead Iran’s transition “as soon as the Islamic Republic collapses.”
As the war in Iran enters its third week, Pahlavi, the son of the late Shah Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, said he has been working in recent months to develop a transition plan to ensure the country does not experience governance disruption in the event of the collapse of the Iranian regime.
Pahlavi said in a social media post that “competent individuals” have been identified both inside and outside Iran to lead what he called a “transitional arrangement.”
He said, “The transitional system under my leadership will be ready to take over the governance of the country immediately after the fall of the Islamic Republic and establish conditions for order, security, freedom and the prosperity and prosperity of Iran in the shortest possible time.”

Pahlavi has been living in exile since the 1979 Islamic Revolution overthrew Iran’s monarchy and established the Islamic Republic.
He has tried in recent years to position himself as a unifying opposition figure and has said he would help guide the transition of power in Iran from theocracy to democracy.
In a message addressed to his “compatriots”, Pahlavi said that his plan to rule the country would come within the framework of the “Iran Prosperity Project”.

In an appearance last week on Fox News’s “My View” with Lara Trump, Pahlavi said the Iranian people will not accept any consequences tied to the current regime.
He said, “Only a clean break will ensure that we get a democratic solution and alternative not only to this regime, but also to those who are not directly associated with this regime in any way, shape or form.”

Pahlavi said that the Iranian people should decide the leadership of their country and that “only the ballot box should decide the outcome and who will be responsible for our country in the future.”
He said, “I think we would expect any government, including, of course, the current Trump administration, to recognize that the best way to really help the Iranian people is to allow them to make a choice freely and to support that choice as a Western democracy, as the world’s leading democracy.”
