Broadcasting of CNN’s “The Lead” on Tuesday, Agriculture Secretary Brook Rolins discussed the tariff and said “to bring back our jobs, to bring back to the US, is actually important to produce within our own country’s borders.” And “One of the silver lines of the current trade war, which we are carrying forward, is, hopefully, we like India with new business partners, such as Vietnam, such as Great Britain, worldwide.” But she also believes that the position with Mexico and Canada will “reach a good place.”
Rollins said, “[T]A better America fight for America, to make America again great, to bring back our jobs, to produce within the boundaries of our own country, is really important. And I think what Governor Trudeau said today is going to be ahead about bringing more tariffs. But, at the end of the day, the President’s vision and what effect he will have and what he stands is fighting for this country. And tariffs will work. They worked first, they will work again. ,
Host Jake Taper then asked, “How much can this trade war potentially go?”
Rollins replied, “This is the art of the deal, isn’t it? We are not only – not only Mexico and Canada, we have to look at China, but we will also have to expand the markets. And I think the current trade is one of the silver lines of war we are carrying forward, hopefully, we are finished with new business partners like Great Britain like Great Britain like Vietnam like Grey Britain. Mexico and why this President, our President is talking about this, and I believe that they will reach a good place.
