CNN’s “The Lead” broadcast on Wednesday, DC City Councilvoman Brooke Pinto (D) stated that the city’s police chiefs are “investigating potential accuracy” with the crime figures of the city, but the number of DOJ city is “another distraction”. And “We have to focus our local and federal resources on real solutions when it comes to crime and public safety. We cannot have these fake investigations.”
Pinto said that “our chief had conducted his internal investigation several months ago to ensure that the data were accurate. He found a case of some possible discrepancies, and he kept the officer on leave and was investigating him.” And also said that she trusts the number of police department of the city.
Host Phil Mattingly then asked, “Are you in support of the investigation of the Department of Justice which is running in those numbers?”
Pinto replied, “No. I think this is another distraction. Public safety and government work is a serious business, and we have to focus on our local and federal resources on real solutions when it comes to crime and public safety. We cannot have this fake investigation. We cannot announce the US lawyer.”
