Former Chicago Beer Safety Charles “Peanut” Tilman says he left the FBI on disagreement with President Trump’s immigration policies.
In a recent episode of Podcast by ESPN Host Ryan Clarke, PivotTilman said that his initial understanding was that the bureau would target illegal foreign criminals and wanted to commit hooliganism for violent crimes.
However, he says that it is not really so.
“Some things they are doing, I did not agree personally, [such as] Immigration, “Tilman said.” I did not agree how the administration came and tried to work against the people. [beliefs], , , It did not sit right.
“An example is immigration. Everyone was told, “You are going to go after the most dangerous criminals.” But what you watch on TV and exactly what was happening, people were not going after that. Personally, it did not sit right with me; It did not sit right with my conscience. You have the ability to deny an order. ,
Tilman, 44, explained that the amount he had made in NFL gave him flexibility to leave the FBI after eight years. He also emphasized that the instructions that control immigration enforcement were not from the Chicago Field Office, but from Washington, DC.
He said, “I want to be on the right of history when all this is said and done,” he said.
Tilman grew up in an army family and he considered his career in the army. Instead, he vowed to serve the public after the end of his NFL career.
The former bear played 12 years out of his 13 years in Chicago. During his long career, he deposited 38 interception, three sacks and 930 tackles.
