European Defense and Space Commissioner Andries Kubilius participated in the third day of the International Paris Air Show.
The commissioner was congratulated by Director General Joseph Ashbaiker at the ESA exhibition, who then hosted a live call with ESA Project Astronaut Astronaut Soloz Uznoski-ENEVSki. Slawosz explained his upcoming Ignis mission. Following the Paris Space Hub visit, the Commissioner Kubilius and the Director General of ESA hosted a press briefing, where his brief statements were made after a question and answer session. Repeat the press conference here, or read a transcript of speakers’ comments. Combitioner Kubilius also congratulated ESA as it celebrates 50 years of its conference and international cooperation for space.
International collaboration was also in front of the ESA Director of Human and Robotic Explosion, Daniel Neurnswander and CNES Executive Vice President Lionel Suchet signed the renovation of the integrated team agreement. The settlement allows teams to work together on the preparation and distribution of the Human Spaceflight Mission, as well as on the technology development in related activities on the ground.
Even in the human spaceflight, ESA signed a joint venture between Thles Alenia Space with a memorandum (MoU), Thales (67%) and Leonardo (33%), and a joint venture to facilitate commercial and industrial advice in the field of space exploration in low Earth’s orbit. The signators will detect opportunities to use the orbital Reef Space Station in the European payload and/or crew members on a non-exclusive basis. Find full details in the press release.
The ESA announced an agreement with Hispasat for the development of the initial stage of Q-design, the first project to integrate quantum key distribution (QKD) through geostative and low class satellites and terrestrial infrastructure. The project will enable the design of QKD services in which users can securely transmit their messages through any of these channels. The first phase will be dedicated to a feasibility study for service section and ground segment components, which is necessary to provide QKD services using several classes, in close collaboration with end users/customers and evaluate integration with QKD ground network.
The role of ESA in modernization of air traffic management was exposed to a panel led by ESA chief Christoff Elemand of Space systems for safety and safety. The panel explained how the ESA works with the European Air Traffic Management community, for example with Eurocontrol, Air Traffic Management Modernization Project Sector Deployment Management and Sester Joint Undertakings. The more efficient air traffic management not only promises to increase security, but also to reduce the congestion that may delay the flight and increase emissions through long flights. Finally, John McFall belongs to how he became the first person with physical disability to join the ESA’s astronaut reserve (as well as a paralympian and a trauma surgeon). John’s expertise helps develop innovative solutions for physical disabled people facing space -related challenges, such as microgravity adaptation, fitness and technology integration. Earlier this year, John received Medical clearance for long -term mission to ISS. Find out more about the fly! Project here.
