Actress Nadia Kessuma’s husband said her family has accepted her death, traveling to Jeddah where she will be buried
George Town: The family of actress Nadia Kesuma is shocked by her demise. Her husband, Professor Dr Muhammad Kamarul Kabilan Abdullah, said he was informed of her death by Wisma Putra.
Muhammad Kamrul Kabilan, 57, a lecturer at Universiti Sains Malaysia, said he and his daughter would travel to Jeddah.
He said he accepted what happened and apologized for not providing more details.
He looked calm as he hugged family members at the Penang International Airport.
He was preparing to fly to Kuala Lumpur before going to Jeddah.
Muhammad Kamrul Kabilan said his wife would be buried in Jeddah.
He has three children aged between 11 and 15 with Nadia Kasuma, whose real name was Nadia Kasumawati Abdul Karim.
“My late wife often talked about her desire to visit Mecca, so we are fulfilling her wish,” he told reporters.
The actress was reported missing while in transit at Jeddah’s King Abdulaziz International Airport on Thursday.
She was on a flight from Kuala Lumpur to London as part of the Umrah-London-Paris travel package. The tour group included 21 other pilgrims.
Muhammad Kamrul Kabilan had earlier confirmed his death through a Facebook post. He said he died at 8.07 am on Thursday.
