Pasir Salak: Felkra BHD has announced a profit of RM178 million for a period of April 2025, marking the growth from the previous year.
Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmed Zahid Hamidi confirmed that RM101 million would be distributed to 74,300 participants across the state.
He said, “I appreciate Felkra BHD for maintaining strong performances,” with an increase of almost RM2 million compared to last year, “she said during the first interim distributable benefit declaration ceremony of 2025.
The program was attended by Rural and Regional Development Deputy Minister Datuk Rubiah Wang and Felka Bhad CEO Datuk Idris Lasim.
Ahmed Zahid highlighted the role of Felkra in national food security through his MRQ 107 paddy, a local aromatic rice variety.
He said that 3,400 hectares of paddy area of Sebrang Parak, managed with modern techniques, receives an average of eight metric tonnes per hectare annually.
He said, “We estimate more than 27,000 metric tons of paddy, which translates 16,000 MT rice, benefiting thousands of families,” he said.
IDRIS blamed the strong interim distribution performance for skilled property management and cost-saving initiatives.
He said, “The use of customized fertilizers and pesticides has reduced by 15 percent, while an increase in 49 percent per hectare per hectare,” he explained.
He said that in the oil palm projects of failure, the net profit also saw an increase of 81 percent.
He insisted that while crude palm oil prices affect profit distribution, the performance of property remains major drivers. – Bernma
