NASA/ESA/CSA On the launch anniversary of the James Webb Space Telescope, ESA presents a unique compilation of zooms in on stunning cosmic views.
So set out on a special journey: as if aboard a virtual spaceship, this video will take you through an interstellar dive into the rich realm of our universe. We will visit the colorful nebulae and dynamic star nurseries in our galaxy. Then move on to travel to the far reaches of the universe and marvel at the interactions of galaxies and giant galaxy clusters.
The largest space telescope ever built, Webb was launched on an Ariane 5 rocket from Europe’s spaceport in French Guiana on Christmas Day in 2021. It made its first scientific observation in July 2022. Since then, the powerful telescope has been tirelessly exploring the universe, from the solar neighborhood to the most distant galaxies.
Happy 4th Anniversary, Web!
