Foreign Ministers Mohamed Hassan and Vivian Balakrishnan will review bilateral relations and prepare for the Malaysia-Singapore Leaders Retreat in December.
kuala lumpur: Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Hassan will hold a bilateral meeting with his Singapore counterpart Dr Vivian Balakrishnan on Tuesday.
The meeting came ahead of the 12th Malaysia-Singapore Annual Leaders’ Retreat in December.
The two ministers are expected to review progress in bilateral relations and cooperation.
They will also exchange views on issues of mutual interest and discuss preparations for disengagement.
“As close neighbors and key ASEAN partners, Malaysia and Singapore enjoy strong cooperation in various fields,” the Malaysian Foreign Ministry said.
This year the two countries are completing 60 years of diplomatic relations.
Malaysia and Singapore remain each other’s second largest trading partners.
Bilateral trade reached US$61.40 billion (RM266.50 billion) from January to August 2025.
This accounted for 8.5% of Malaysia’s total trade during that period. – Bernama
