Speaking on CNN’s “State of the Union” program on Sunday, Governor Mickey Sherrill (D-NJ) said Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) is “terrorizing American citizens” so they need to be “immediately removed from the streets.”
Host Dana Bash said, “I have to ask you, as the newly sworn-in governor of a blue state, about the shooting in Minneapolis. What is your message to the president?”
Sherrill said, “It’s horrible to watch. First of all, Renee Good shot. A mom with kids the same age as my kids. A soccer mom who was being briefed in her Honda. She’s trying to get out of the way to get shot and killed. And now we see Alex Peretti, who was an ICU nurse at the VA, who was a very upstanding citizen here, and she saw tear gas being fired at a woman and it looks like She was trying to protect him. And then a mob of ICE agents took away his gun, he was taken to the ground unarmed, he was shot ten times. This is an irresponsible, lawless organization that is terrorizing American citizens, and we need to take them off the streets immediately. Is.
