Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi warned on Saturday that Tehran would “target US targets” in the region if US forces attacked, a report said.
The comments came after Araghchi said on Friday that indirect nuclear talks with the US in Oman were “a good start” and there was “consensus” that talks would continue.
“It would not be possible to attack US soil, but if Iran was attacked by US forces we would target their targets in the region,” Araghchi told Al Jazeera on Saturday. According to Reuters.
He reportedly said, “We will not attack neighboring countries, but we will target American bases located in them. There is a big difference between the two.”

Oman’s Foreign Ministry said, “The consultations focused on creating appropriate conditions for the resumption of diplomatic and technical dialogue, stressing their importance, in the light of the parties’ determination to ensure their success in achieving sustainable security and stability.”
