Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz has said that Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps navy commander Alireza Tangsiri was targeted and killed in the Israeli strike.
“Tonight, in a precise and lethal operation, the IDF eliminated the commander of the IRGC Navy, Tangsiri, along with senior members of the Naval Command,” Katz said, according to a translation from Hebrew. “The individual who was directly responsible for the terrorist act of mining and blocking shipping in the Strait of Hormuz has been targeted and eliminated.”
Katz indicated, “This is a clear message to all senior officials of the Iranian IRGC terrorist organization currently ruling Iran: The IDF will find and eliminate you one by one. I congratulate the IDF for the perfect execution.” “This is also important news for our U.S. partners, given the IDF’s assistance in reopening the Strait of Hormuz and as an expression of the historic partnership between U.S. President Donald Trump and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and our two countries and two armies.”

A senior Israeli official told Fox News that the attack was carried out based on American and Israeli intelligence.
“The head of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Navy, Alireza Tangsiri, who directly ordered the closure of the Strait of Hormuz – one of the world’s most important energy chokepoints – was targeted in an overnight strike at a secret naval command center, along with his senior operational leadership, including intelligence and operations chiefs,” the official said. “This targeted attack was based on US and Israeli intelligence and shows how deeply it is capable of penetrating.”

President Donald Trump launched a controversial war against Iran along with Israel nearly four weeks ago.
“The Iranian negotiators are very aloof and ‘strange’. They are ‘begging’ us to make a deal, which they should do because they are militarily destroyed, with no possibility of withdrawal, and yet they say publicly that they are only ‘considering our proposal.’ Wrong!!!” Trump announced this in a Truth Social post on Thursday morning.

“They better get serious soon, before it’s too late, because once that happens, there’s no going back, and that won’t be good!” He warned.
