The remains of an Israeli hostage who spent nearly two years in captivity in Gaza Strip were recovered by the country’s army.
The IDF said, “The body of Ilaan Weis, who held hostage for 693 days in Gaza, has been recovered in the military operation of a joint Israeli defense forces and the Israeli security agency.”
He said, “Ilaan was from Kibutz Berry and on the morning of 7 October, Kibutz left his home to join the Emergency Response Team. He was murdered and kidnapped by Hamas during the 7 October massacre.” “His wife Shiri, 54, and 19 -year -old daughter Noga was held hostage in Gaza and released during the ceasefire deal in November 2023.”
According to the Associated Press, the body of another Israeli was also recovered on Friday and is now in the process of recognizing it.
