A leading security analyst has said the past 48 hours in Tel Aviv were unlike anything seen before, as sirens went off amid Operation Epic Fury and missile threats following US-Israeli strikes in Iran.
“We are facing a biblical event — nothing less,” Kobi Michael, a senior researcher at the Institute for National Security Studies and the Misgav Institute, told Fox News Digital from his shelter in the city.
Like many Israelis, Michael said he had spent hours in reinforced rooms during the ongoing barrage, adding that he was “very experienced in it.”
“But all this requires time and determination, and I hope Trump will have both,” he said, speaking shortly after the president released a video message saying the military campaign would continue “until all our objectives are achieved.”

Michael said, “Trump is the only one who can bring about change – and that change will impact the entire region and the international system for years to come.”
As of Sunday, Tel Aviv was under a state of emergency following Iranian missile attacks that caused casualties and widespread damage.
According to the Associated Press, about 11 Israeli civilians were killed and dozens of others injured in Iranian missile and drone attacks in retaliation for US-Israeli attacks on Iran.
Shrapnel from the missile’s impact damaged at least 40 buildings in Tel Aviv, and officials reported at least one death in the area from falling debris.
The Philippine Embassy in Israel confirmed the death of a Filipino citizen following a missile strike in Tel Aviv on Saturday.

Michael said, “As soon as the sirens go off, we enter our shelter and stay there until the Home Front Command announces that we will leave.”
“Typically, this happens about 20 to 30 minutes – unless there are sirens ahead during our stay. Since yesterday morning, this has happened about 30 times.”
Israeli President Isaac Herzog also visited an impact site in Tel Aviv on Sunday and delivered a message of resilience.
Herzog said, “The people of Israel and the people of Iran can live in peace. The region can live in peace. But what undermines peace again and again is the terror incited by this Iranian regime.”

Following the alleged assassination of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and about 40 senior Iranian officials, Iran formed a temporary leadership council.
Iran nominated Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, President Massoud Pezeshkian and judiciary chief Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Ezei to key roles.
“The Supreme Leader did not complete the necessary groundwork regarding his succession,” Michael said.

“Pezeshkian will face very troubling challenges due to his heavy losses, serious disruption of control and command systems, and large-scale bombings and attacks throughout Iran, including Tehran,” he said.
Michael said, “Even if this regime does not collapse, it will never be able to reorganize itself, recover or return to its previous state.”
