Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) has formally announced the date of opening of Kedarnath doors as 2026. The announcement said that the Kedarnath temple will open its gates after a special puja ritual at 8:00 am on April 22, 2026.

The date was announced during the Mahashivratri festival. Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee Chairman Ajendra Ajay organized a religious event on Mahashivratri at Panchkedar Gaddisthal Shri Omkareshwar Temple, Ukhimath. During that event, the priests (acharyas and other Vedapathis) of the Omkareshwar temple in Ukhimath chose the date of inauguration as per the Hindu calendar. The doors were closed for winter on Bhai Dooj in 2025; They will reopen on April 22, 2026 at 8 am.

- Once you submit the details download the QR based travel pass so that you can carry the printed copy of that pass with you.
