Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) announced that she would resign from office in January, and she criticized both Republicans and Democrats, saying that “nothing ever gets better” for regular Americans.
in a statement issued In a post on
Green said, “Americans are used by the political industrial complex of both political parties in election cycle after election cycle to elect whichever side can convince Americans to hate the other side more.” “And the results are always the same. No matter which way the political pendulum swings, Republican or Democrat, nothing gets better for the common American man or woman.”
Green said, “Today, many of my children’s generation feel hopeless about their future and don’t think they will ever be able to achieve the American dream, which breaks my heart.” “I ran for Congress in 2020 and fought every day believing that Make America Great Again means America First.”
Greene noted that she has “one of the most conservative voting records in Congress”, in that she has defended First and Second Amendment rights and the rights of unborn children, but has criticized the Republican Party’s dwindling majority and the government shutdown, which lasted 43 days.
Green’s statement continues in part:
During the longest shutdown in our country’s history, I vented anger at my own president and my own party for refusing to actively work to pass a plan to save American health care and protect Americans from abusive, overpriced, and unaffordable health insurance policies. The House should have been working every day in session to fix this disaster, but instead, America was once again fed disgusting political drama from both sides of the aisle…
My bills, which mirror many of President Trump’s executive orders – such as calling for a new census to count Americans only to draw new districts, making English the official language of the US, making medically transferring a minor a felony, and other bills such as eliminating the capital gains tax on the sale of your primary home, and ending H1B visas – are just gathering dust. This is what happens with most members of Congress’s bills: The Speaker never brings them to the House floor for a vote.
Many ordinary Americans are no longer easily convinced by paid political campaign spokespeople and consultants on TV and paid shills on social media who obediently force others to swallow political party talk with cult-like commitment.
The Georgia congresswoman said she is “blessed to represent Georgia’s 14th District for five years.”
“I have fought harder than almost any other elected Republican, traveling the country for years, to put Donald Trump and the Republicans in power,” Greene said.
Greene has announced that she will resign because of ongoing differences between her and President Donald Trump. Trump released a statement on Truth Social that he was withdrawing his “endorsement and endorsement” of Greene, calling her a “wacko.” Trump also accused her of continuing to complain despite his administration’s other accomplishments being “closed borders, lower taxes, no men in women’s sports or transgender for everyone.”
Trump’s announcement that he was withdrawing his endorsement from Greene, as she was distancing herself from Trump regarding his stance on Israel, and demanding the release of documents related to deceased convicted billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.
Greene said in her announcement that her “sole goal and desire is to hold the Republican Party accountable for the promises it made to the American people and put America first,” adding that she has also fought against Democrat policies such as the Green New Deal and “unsafe border policies.”
Greene added, “This has been accompanied by years of never-ending personal attacks, death threats, lawlessness, ridiculous slander and lies about me that most people cannot tolerate for even a day.”
