Sometimes called “Star Time”, this unit of measurement is definitely not a clock time.
A solar day is slightly taller than a cadarry day because the earth is not stable. As we revolve around the Sun, the Earth should rotate the “additional” zodiac to place the Sun back to the meridian. Credit: Holi Y. Bakich
- A solar day is defined by the return of the Sun into the local meridian, while a cadir -day is defined by the return of the march to the local meridian.
- A solar day is about 3 minutes and 56 seconds, which is more than a cider’s day due to rotation of the Earth together and revolution around the sun.
- Sidereal time, unlike the solar time (everyday watch), is referred to the stars and is defined as the correct origin of the celestial object on the local meridian.
- Unlike time regions, ciderial time varies with time space, which use a similar time in one area.
Astronomical time is the basic unit of measurement DayA rotation of the earth on its axis. But there are more than one way to define the day. We can define it on the basis of sun. One Solar day The Sun is the time to release and return to its local meridian, the fictional line that is included in the overhead point at the south point on the horizon.
The ciderial time is referred to for stars. Every day (civil) time is referred to for the average speed of the sun, not stars. So, ciderial time usually does not coincide with everyday (clock) time. To be accurate, the ciderial time only agrees with solar times in the September equator; At any time, they are different. They differ exactly 12 hours at the time of March Equinox.
Cditorial day The march is defined as the length of time for the march equinox to return to its astronomical meridian. By comparing it Solar dayWho The Sun is defined as the length of time to return to its astronomical meridian. The two are not the same.
Why are they different?
Because the Earth is moving around the Sun as well as moving on its axis, during one day our planet will have to die for 3 minutes and 56 seconds longer to bring the Sun back into the meridian, which to bring the march equinox back into the meridian. So, solar day is more than 3 minutes and 56 seconds than ciderial day. It is an anomaly that causes differences in ciderial and solar times. This time difference is also responsible for various constellations, which are overhead in the day of the whole year.
When the march equinox is on your local meridian, the ciderial time is 0 hours (0 hours is the correct origin of the equinox). As time passes, the stars look moving. Later, you can note that a star of your local meridian has a correct origin of 1 hour. At that time, the ciderial time in your place is 1 hour. So, cider’s time is defined as a right ascension of a “star” (real or imagination) which is vested on it. Your local meridianSidereal time is not like a time area, where an entire region has the same time. The ciderial time at your observation place is different from your friend’s entire city.
Although some amateur astronomers now use ciderial time, it is valuable to know about it and the astronomical movements that distinguish it from the time of the clock.
