Microsoft has stated that it is ending support for passwords in its authentic app starting from August 1, 2025.
The company said, the two-factor authentication (2FA) apps are part of their efforts to streamline autofils.
“Since July 2025, autofil feature will stop working at the autofil feature, and from August 2025, the passwords will no longer be accessible in the authenticity,” Microsoft said in a support document for Microsoft Artist, and from August 2025.
It is worth noting that Microsoft has already removed the ability to add new passwords to the previous month’s app. However, the option to save passwords through autofil will continue to work in July.
He said, this facility is not being completely abolished. Instead, saved passwords and addresses will now be sinks with users’ Microsoft accounts, so that they can be set as default autofil provider and access through Edge web browser.
“After August 2025, your saved passwords will no longer be accessible in the authentic and any generated password will be removed,” said Redmund.
Another important aspect to pay attention is that changes do not apply to passers. Users who have enabled passkeys to their microsoft accounts need to enable the authentic as their passkey provider. There will also be side effects of disabled to the incompetent atmosphere.
Users who already use a separate password manager solution such as Apple iCloud Keychain or Google Password Manager can set it as their default autofil provider on their mobile devices. Users can also export their passwords from the authentic app and then import them to their selected service.
