Qualampur: Digital Ministry is increasing efforts to equip more women entrepreneurs with digital skills, addressing a significant difference in training access.
The ministry is collaborating to provide target assistance for women -led businesses with players of SME Corp, Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), Digital National BHD and industry players, through a newly launched program called “Emperor Digital”.
The program will empower B40 women entrepreneurs with digital skills and market access. Its objective is to help participants to generate income and create a permanent business in the digital economy.
Digital Minister Gobind Singh Dev emphasized the need for more inclusive and accessible training programs.
“Currently, out of 220,000 female entrepreneurs, only 12% have access to early stage training, raising concerns about whether existing government programs are reaching out to those who need them most. To address this, the Ministry is working on expanding training efforts with other ministries and agencies to promote participation, ”he asked reporters today at the launch of Empener Digital.
He said that only the infrastructure is not enough to run digital changes, saying that talent development is an important factor.
“We want to build sophisticated and safe infrastructure, but if it is not used effectively, it means nothing. Training, especially for women, will be an important focus area in the coming months to ensure that more entrepreneurs can adopt technology to develop their businesses. ,
Gobind said the Ampowerher Digital Program would be rolled out across the country, with an analogy approach based on regional differences, Gobind said.
“We admitted that entrepreneurs in urban areas face various challenges compared to rural areas. To ensure justified support, outreach efforts will be made across the country, providing customized solutions based on local business needs, ”he said.
Gobind said that the government would assess the impact of the program after a few months to determine whether the adjustment is required or not.
“This continuous assessment approach aims to refine strategies that support female entrepreneurs more effectively and are suitable for developing professional scenarios. Input from participants will be important in shaping future training modules and policies. ,
The minister said that this initiative reflects the government’s widespread commitment to promote a strong digital economy through inclusion.
“With the more female entrepreneurs gaining access to the necessary digital skills, the Ministry is expected to brid down the current skill gaps and increase Malaysia’s competition in digital space. By the end of the year, a significant increase in the number of trained women entrepreneurs will appear, ”Gobind said.
MDEC CEO Anu -Feriz Fadzil emphasized that Empener Digital is more than only one training program.
“This is a movement to build a permanent support ecosystem. The program equipped B40 women with digital skills, market access and mentorship to help them develop competitive businesses. As the nation’s digital economy, MDEC is committed to ensuring that women are not only technology users, but also the driver of innovation. ,
Anuur highlighted that closing the gender difference in digital adoption is important for Malaysia’s economic growth and digital change.
