Selangor Police are investigating vehicle arson and threats in Taman Kinrara, Puchong, with cases filed under mischief and criminal intimidation laws.
kuala lumpur: Police have opened three separate investigations following incidents of vehicle arson and criminal threats in the Taman Kinrara residential area of Puchong.
Selangor police chief Datuk Shazeli Kahar said the investigation was launched after receiving two reports related to incidents at the same location on March 9 and 10.
For the first incident, two investigation letters were opened under Section 427 and Section 506 of the Penal Code for mischief and criminal intimidation.
A separate investigation was initiated under section 435 of the Penal Code for the second incident involving damage caused by fire to vehicles.
Shazeli said police are conducting a detailed investigation from various angles to establish the motive and identify the culprits.
He cautioned the public against posting speculations or provocative comments that could affect racial harmony and public order.
“Strict action will be taken against anyone violating the law,” he said in a statement.
He urged the public to give police space to complete the investigation process and called on anyone with information to come forward.
Videos circulated on social media showed three cars belonging to a man named Sikgu Chandra being set on fire by unidentified people.
The teacher’s house in Puchong was earlier attacked by a group who damaged their vehicles and windows of the residence.
