Private AX-4 Astronaut Mission will return home on Earth on Monday morning (July 14), and you can see action live.
The SpaceX Crew Dragon Capsule is scheduled from the International Space Station (ISS) carrying four X -4 astronauts for the vicinity of EDT (1105 GMT) at 7:05 am on Monday.
You will be able to see the milestone live through NASA, SpaceX and Axiam Space, which is the Houston Company which organized the X -4 mission. Space.com will take NASA’s feed, if the agency provides it.
NASA will start its stream at 4:30 pm (0830 GMT) to cover the closing of the hatch between ISS and crew dragon, which is expected to be around 4:55 AM EDT (0855 GMT).
The agency will raise its coverage to bring to EDT (1045 GMT) at 6:45 pm. According to NASA, SpaceX and Axiom will currently start their streams.
NASA did not give an approximate time on Earth for the splashadown of the AX-4, which will be in the Pacific Ocean from the California coast. The agency, however, said that the AXIOM would stream the mission reverentry and return to the company’s website.
Axiom-4 crew:
Commander Paigi Whitson
Pilot Shubhinhu “Shax” Shukla
Mission expert slawosz
Mission expert Tibor Kapu
AX-4 is commanded by Pengi Whitson, a former NASA astronaut, who has spent more time in space than any other American (about 700 days!) And now serves as the director of the Axiom of the human spaceflight.
His crew is India’s Mission Pilot Shubhinu Shukla; Polish mission specialist slawosz uznaaski, who is a European space agency astronaut; And Hungarian mission expert Tibor Kapu. All three are the first people of their respective countries to visit ISS.
AX-4 launched a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket on 25 June and reached the ISS a day later.
Four private astronauts have demonstrated more than 60 scientific experiments and outreach activities during their time in the classroom, which was expected to be two weeks. This was always a thick estimate, however: Dragon departure dates from ISS are flexible, depending on the weather conditions near the splashedown site.
As its name suggests, the AX-4 is the fourth crude ISS mission operated by AXIOM. The other was launched on 3 April 2022, May 2023 and January 2024. All have used SpaceX hardware.
