SpaceX’s next generation starship spacecraft is fired in another test as the company prepares for its ninth flight. Starship set a steady fire of its upper phase at the Starbase feature in South Texas on 12 May. The 171-Foot long (52-meter) vehicle fired all six of its powerful raptor engines to burn the full-time, which took about 60 seconds. It marked the third such stable fire for this specific ship, which is now undergoing the last check. SpaceX shared the video and test pictures in a post on X the next day.
Mangal-Taiyar again in advance as SpaceX as Ninth Launch near Starship
According to Space.com report, the static fire vehicle is one of the last major milestones before the upcoming launch, although no date has been announced yet. The booster assigned to Flight 9 has already conducted a stable fire test, the sparking talk can be only weeks from the flight. Fully stacked, starship is 403.5 feet, which is the most powerful rocket system ever. Its super-heey booster and ship upper stage purpose is for complete reuse, requiring trips for the moon, Mars and beyond.
Starship has completed eight test flights to date, two of them in 2025. Although the missions have exploded themselves without any bottlenecks, the upper platform of the ship blubs both times immediately after reaching the space. During those flights, Super Heavy managed to return to the starbase and ground with the help of “Chopstick” weapons of his giant launch tower in a dramatic maneuver, which was a kind for SpaceX’s rocket-catch system. But 10 minutes after launching both times, the ship exploded, a failure that has expressed concern about the stability of that upper phase.
SpaceX Starships, Mars colonization spacecraft, now completed more than one full stable fire test run, and this is expected to be a fully re -purpose spacecraft after the next test flight. Till then, Space Watches will have to wait for progress in the starbase. The ninth launch of this huge vehicle is probably not far away if SpaceX is continued and tested the speed with which they are going.
