For regular readers of techcrunch mobility, you must be wondering, “Why did this newspaper land into my inbox on Friday?” Friends, we are going on the day in an attempt to bring you the news of the week more completely.
I spent the concert in SXSW, Annual Technology, Film, Comedy and Austin last week. I recommend scrolling all transport, AI, social media, manufacturer economy through my live blog – originally Tech – News that took place during the conference.
I have seen that Austin develops over years with some good and bad consequences. The protected bike lane has been a positive development, which I appreciated because I rode some lime scooters and two modes of e-bikes around the city. Austin is also becoming a hub for autonomous vehicle activity, in which AVRID’s headquarters, zox tests on public roads, and Wemo is starting a commercial robotaxi service.
I was lucky to be matched with two vemo robotaxis-all ride-hales are through the Uber app, so this is never a guarantee. I also had a coordinated match etiquette of Wemo. As I wrote earlier this week, it is absolutely wild that Vaymo and Uber are working together. here’s why.
Oh, and here I discovered what I have discovered in my waymo-euber robotaxi ride. Indications: Some updates to the user interface.

Deal!

Senior reporter Sean O’Kane put a deep dive in a new enterprise firm Latmotive It has been quietly creating a burden of deals for the last 16 months. The firm, which funds about 20 startups, focuses on a portfolio roughly with a portfolio that includes EV companies, space and battery plays and four nuclear fusion startups.
This is not an interesting part. What is here: All the money in its fund came from the Volkswagen group. Look at the full story about why the German automotive giant has taken $ 300 million for the first fund of latterf.
Other deals that attract my attention …
Carpool logisticsA vehicle logistics platform, raised $ 12 million in a series, with a funding round led by Vevet Gigley and Michael Quigley and Automotive industry veteran David Metter, with a funding round.

Rivian Roll out a hand-free version of its driver-assistance system for highway driving, which was discussed by founder and CEO RJ Scarring on stage at SXSW in Austin. The new hands-free feature competes the rivian with Ford and GM, which has hand-free system controlling steering, acceleration and braking under certain conditions and locations.
Autonomous vehicle
Throat face To help expand the leerbot with AI startup yak-to help create the world’s robotics systems, open AI models, datasets and a collection of equipment-to allow robots and cars to allow cars to navigate the environment such as city roads.
Truck VC General Partner Reeli Brainon There was an interesting column, do not make a ride mistake for av ridehming.
Travis CalnicFormer Uber CEO, think that the company’s decision to leave its autonomous driving program was a mistake. Remrator: Uber was burning through ATG cash on selling Arora in 2020.
Vemo Keeps expanding – this time in Silicon Valley. And this expansion has come up with hundreds of parking tickets.
Electric vehicles, charging and battery
Mint 400 The off-road race put two EVS-one rivian R1T truck and a Chevrole Silverrado EV ZR2 off-road race for the concept concept concept.
Red power Lost his CEO and achieved a new one in a few days.
President Donald Trump He said he would labeled violence as domestic terrorism against Tesla dealership – yet another sign of his deep support for Elon Musk. As reporter Sean o’cane Note, “Tesla Techover” Tesla dealerships are breaking worldwide at the dealership, as people oppose that they see Kasturi (who is the CEO of Tesla and the CEO of its largest shareholder) and their government’s efficiency as a hostile acquisition of the federal government by the department’s efficiency department. As a result of some protests, Tesla’s signals were set on fire at the charging stations, even the Molotov Cocktails were thrown into the lot of a dealership.
This week’s wheels

This week I tried two e-bikes from Austin-based Mode BikeI will focus on its latest one, DrainWhich was launched earlier this week.
I spent 24 hours DrainAn all-electric step-through bike with a soup-up cruiser look and feel. The drain was present earlier, but the mod bike closed it. It is now returned and has been updated entirely including frames, batteries, torque sensors, smart displays and motors.
The bike is sporty in itself and polished with a lot of thoughtful details that looks like a theft of $ 1,999. The design is thoughtful with easy-to-read and easily powered control and an integrated bike lock that bends neatly on the frame.
The drain is a throttle and pedal assist bike, and I found it easy to switch between different modes. I rarely trusted the throttle because the aid provided a lot of omphs. The payload capacity of the bike is 275 pounds and reaches a top speed of 28 mph. The drain has a limit of 50 miles; However, there is a dual-battery option that pops it up to 100 miles.
A note, however: wow, this bike is heavy. And while this is usually a good thing, people should give themselves some time to accommodate their weight.
I also tested MOD Connect, which allows users to directly sink and control a lumos ultra-smart helmet to sync and control the turn signal directly from the bike. Connected bike helmet saw me more than the drivers because I navigated the busy roads of the city Austin.
What is “wheels of this week”? This is the opportunity to learn about various transport products we are testing, whether it is an electric or hybrid car, e-bike, or even riding in an autonomous vehicle.
