Fox News Channel’s “Special Report,” Treasury Secretary Scott Besant’s broadcast on Thursday stated that “a couple of big” trade deals that are “close” but have a little stalled talks with China. ” And direct interaction between XI and President Donald Trump will be required.
Besant said, “There are very large deals that are close. One of them is more complex, and, as we saw with the danger of the President of 50% tariff last Friday, the European Union came to the table very quickly in the weekend. So now we have got the European Union at the moment.”
Host Bretr Bair then asked, “And what about China, especially China? And it, of course, started in a different place. How can you now mark those dialogues?”
Besent replied, “I would say they are a little stopping. I believe we will interact more with them in the next few weeks. And I believe that at some point we can make a call between President and party president XI.”
Bair then said, “So stopped. There was a time when the President thought it was moving a lot.”
Besant replied, “Again, I think, looking at the magnitude of talks, looking at the complexity, that the two leaders need to weigh each other. They have very good relationships. And I believe that the Chinese will come to the table when President Trump knows his priorities.”
