President Donald Trump called on House Republicans to “vote to release” files related to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, explaining that it is time for the country to “move on from this Democrat deception.”
In a post on Truth Social, Trump said he cares more that Republicans “get back to the point” and focus on what his administration has accomplished, such as securing the southern border, deporting criminal illegal aliens, and defunding women’s sports from transgender-identifying biological men.
“As I told the Fake News Media aboard Air Force One on Friday night, House Republicans must vote to release the Epstein files, because we have nothing to hide, and it is time to move on from this Democrat fraud perpetrated by Radical Left lunatics to distract from the great successes of the Republican Party, including our recent victory over the Democrat ‘shutdown,'” Trump said in his post.
Trump continued to say that the Department of Justice (DOJ) has “already turned over thousands of pages on Epstein to the public” and said they are “looking into” Democrats such as former President Bill Clinton and Democrat megadonor Reid Hoffman and “their ties to Epstein.”
Nick Gilbertson of Breitbart News reported that Trump had said he would ask Attorney General Pam Bondi to “investigate the connections” between Epstein, Clinton, Hoffman and former Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.
“All I care about is getting Republicans back on point, which is the economy, ‘affordability’ (where we are winning big!), our victory in reducing inflation from the highest levels in history to practically zero, lowering prices for the American people, making historic tax cuts, getting trillions of dollars invested in America (a record!), rebuilding our military, securing our border, deporting criminal illegal aliens, decriminalizing men. Women’s sports, stopping transgender people for everyone, and much more!” Trump added.
Trump’s post continued in part:
Nobody cared about Jeffrey Epstein when he was alive and if the Democrats had something they would have released it before our landslide election victory. Some “members” of the Republican Party are being “used” and we cannot let that happen. Let’s start talking about the record-setting accomplishments of the Republican Party, and not fall into the Epstein “trap,” which is really a curse on the Democrats, not on us. Make America Great Again!
Trump’s post comes as Trump’s “discharge petition to compel the House to vote” was reported to have “received its final signatures” to release additional files related to Epstein, and received support from House Democrats and Republicans such as Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) and Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC).
