President Donald Trump on Monday fired Federal Reserve village Lisa Cook on allegations of hostage fraud.
In a letter from Trump posted on social media, the President said he had “sufficient reasons” to remove him, citing his hostage fraud allegations.
“I have determined that you have enough reason to remove from your position,” Trump wrote.

In his letter, the President said that Cook’s alleged action weakens the trust of Americans in the Federal Reserve.
“The Federal Reserve has a tremendous responsibility to determine the interest rates and regulate the reserve and member banks,” Trump wrote. “American people should be able to confident in honesty of the members assigned to determine the policy and to oversee the Federal Reserve. In a financial matter, in the light of your fraud and potential criminal conduct, they cannot, they cannot do and I do not believe in your integrity.”
