US Special Presidential Envoy for Peacekeeping Missions Steve Witkoff announced Thursday that delegations from the US, Ukraine and Russia have agreed to an exchange of hundreds of prisoners.
“Today, delegations from the United States, Ukraine, and Russia agreed to swap 314 prisoners – the first such swap in five months,” the announcement was made in a Thursday post on X.
The post added, “This results from peace talks that have been comprehensive and productive. While significant work remains, steps like this demonstrate that continued diplomatic engagement is producing concrete results and advancing efforts to end the war in Ukraine.”

“Discussions will continue, with additional progress expected in the coming weeks. We thank the UAE for hosting these discussions and President Donald J. Trump for his leadership in making this agreement possible,” the post said.
President Donald Trump’s administration is attempting to help broker a peace deal between Russia and Ukraine.
Trump spoke to Chinese President XI Jinping on many issues including the Russia-Ukraine war.

The president said in a Wednesday Truth Social post that “war between Russia/Ukraine” was a topic during his phone call with Chinese President Xi Jinping that day.
Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., said in a Tuesday post on X that he would “urge President Trump to begin a process to provide Tomahawk missiles to Ukraine that would be a game changer militarily.”

“In the coming days and weeks, we must put even more pressure on Putin. Any negotiations are viewed as highly leveraged aggression, which would wreak havoc around the world. The opposite is equally true. If negotiations result in a free, strong, and independent Ukraine – which had to make concessions – then the world will be far more stable,” Graham stressed.
