A bill introduced in the Washington State Legislature will require drivers to have a speed limited equipment on their cars to limit speed with the history of speed.
The House Bill 1596 was proposed after the supporters said that the increase in fatal accidents was due to a boom. According to Fox 13, the bill was heard in the House Transportation Committee on Thursday in the House Transportation Committee and some drivers would require “Intelligent Speed Assistance Device” to be installed in cars.
The device limits the speed of the car using GPS technology to follow the speed limit where the vehicle is being operated. These drivers may exceed the speed limit three times a month.
A driver will have a device on his car if he has a new restricted license installed by the bill. It is similar how ignition interlock equipment is used for people with a history of drunk driving.

Drivers will also receive the device during the probation period, when their license was suspended for racing or “excessive speed”, which is defined as driving at least 20 mph on the speed range. Drivers may also be ordered by a court to place motion-limited equipment on their car.
The Democrat State Rape, Mari Levit, a major sponsor of the bill, “We are losing Washington and family members, unnecessarily, tragic and lost from prevention.”
“These are not accidents,” he said. “They are deliberately choosing behavior that are harming and often killing people.”
According to data in 2023 of the Washington Traffic Safety Commission, one of the three fatal accidents in the state included a sharp driver. The total number and speed number of deadly accidents is running upwards from 2019.

The Commission’s Sheldal Baldwin testified, “Between 2019 and 2024, tickets increased by 200%to increase speed of more than 50 miles than speed limit.” “So we know that this is a growing problem with which we are working.”
Republican State rape. Gloria Mendoza questioned how the bill helps the speeders to protect people by allowing them to continue driving.
“So we are trying to help them back their license by giving them this tool,” said Mendoza. “So how is it helping to save life?”
