An Indian rocket is set to launch the record-breaking Bluebird 6 smartphone satellite tonight (December 23), and you can watch the action live.

AST is building a constellation of spacemobile satellites low earth orbit (LEO) that delivers broadband service directly to standard smartphones on the ground.
The company has launched five operational satellites so far, all on a single satellite spacex falcon 9 rocket in september 2024Those spacecraft, Bluebirds 1 to 5, feature 693-square-foot (64,4 square meters) communications arrays – the largest ever hoisted in LEO,
Bluebird 6 will break that record, and by a good margin. It is the first of AST Spacemobile’s next generation Bluebirds, with each array covering approximately 2,400 square feet (223 square meters).
Tonight’s liftoff will be the ninth flight overall for the three-stage, 143-foot-tall (43.5-meter) LVM3, India’s most powerful rocket. It started in December 2014 and till now its success rate is 100%.
Bluebird 6, weighing approximately 13,450 pounds (6,100 kg), will be the heaviest payload ever carried to LEO by LVM3, according to Indian Space Research Organization,
