An American bald eagle flies from its nest and into a tree at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Friday, March 13, 2026. Bald eagle nest surveys are conducted annually at NASA Kennedy, Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, and Canaveral National Seashore to document active and inactive bald eagle nest numbers in support of wildlife management and regulatory compliance. Each year, the eagles winter at the Florida Spaceport, breeding and raising a new generation.
