As part of Breitbart’s America 250 coverage, we proudly present an American tribute. This special segment features original videos sent to us from members of Congress, the Cabinet and the Administration… all thematically linked by a simple premise: love of country.
People from all over the world come to America because they know they can achieve the unimaginable — not otherwise — Department of Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin told Breitbart News as America’s 250th birthday celebrations approach.
“First of all, look at where I am. I’m sitting in the President’s Cabinet in the nation’s capital. I’m not part of the royal family,” Mullin said, putting the significance of his current position into larger perspective.
He revealed, “No one in my family has ever been involved in politics. We’re from a small rural town called Westville, Oklahoma. My family was Cherokee. We were first forced to move there in the late 1830s.”
“And so in America, there’s not a single thing you can’t accomplish,” said the Trump Cabinet member who was sworn into that role in March. “Just, are you willing to sacrifice enough for it? Not complain about it. Don’t want it. Are you willing to sacrifice… because in America, no one tells you what you can or can’t do.”
The former congressman and senator added, “You can achieve whatever level of sacrifice you’re willing to make, and that’s a great thing, because everyone can truly live the American dream.”
“That’s why people flood our borders, trying to get in – not from the opposite direction,” he said.
