PM Anwar Ibrahim has moved up five places to 10th position in the list of the world’s 500 most influential Muslim figures by RISSC Jordan.
Kuala Lumpur: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim was named the 10th most influential Muslim person in the 2026 edition of the World’s 500 Most Influential Muslims.
The book was published by the Royal Islamic Strategic Studies Center (RISSC) of Jordan.
Anwar’s rise from 15th place last year to 10th place reflects the international recognition of his leadership.
This recognition has also strengthened Malaysia’s position at the global level.
Anwar has been listed among the 50 most influential Muslim personalities in the world along with other famous personalities.
The first place in the list includes Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani.
Saudi Arabia’s King Salman bin Abdul-Aziz Al-Saud is in eighth place.
Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto is also at 15th place.
RISSC also said that Anwar was ranked seventh in the ranking of Islamic leaders and most influential politicians in the world.
This ranking is higher than the ninth position last year.
Anwar managed to defeat Prabowo in 10th place and Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Saeed el-Sisi in 13th place.
This assessment is based on the influence of Muslim celebrities, which is defined as the ability to bring about significant change.
These changes cover various aspects in the Islamic world or among Muslims.
Aspects of evaluation include cultural, ideological, financial, political or other areas.
The impact is evaluated as positive or negative depending on the respective perspective.
The RISSC publication said the prime minister played an important role in reducing tensions between Thailand and Cambodia.
This action was taken after several days of fighting on the border of the two countries.
Anwar was also vocal about the struggle of the Palestinian people against Israeli atrocities.
He helped build trust between Bangkok and Phnom Penh.
This effort strengthened Malaysia’s image as a constructive peace broker in Southeast Asia.
The Prime Minister is also a strong supporter of the Palestinian right to resist the occupation.
His meetings with Hamas officials, including slain Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, were criticized by the United States.
Ismail Haniyeh’s post expressing condolences on social media after his murder has been removed.
This incident inspired him to convey a clear and firm message to Meta.
Anwar called on Meta to stop his cowardice and stop acting as a tool of the oppressive Israeli Zionist regime. – nominated
