Apple is reportedly developing an in-house answer engine that will be powered by artificial intelligence (AI). According to the report, the company has also formed a new team which has been tasked to develop this Chatgpt-style answer engine product. Interestingly, cupertino-based tech veterans reported after reducing the role of chatbots in his ecosystem and claimed that Apple is not making any such product. On the other hand, the answer engine can also plan the iPhone manufacturer for the future when the deal for your search engine is not available with Google.
Apple allegedly creates answer, knowledge and information team
Mark Gurman of Bloomberg wrote in the power-on newsletter that Apple has formed a new team called Answer, Knowledge and Information or AKI. Citing anonymous sources familiar with development, the report claimed that the group has been tasked to create an in-house-such as search experience “.
For those who confuse the word “answer engine”, this AI startup was popular by perplexity, called its AI-managed web search experience answer engine. Essentially, it is a dual system, where for the first time a specific search engine such as the search query, the web gets relevant URL and information, and the other a large language model (LLM) collides with information to respond to a consequent way.
Gurman says that the AKI team is headed by Robbie Walker, a senior director of Apple, who reports to John Giannandrea, Senior Vice President of Apple of Machine Learning and AI strategy. According to Walker’s LinkedIn Profile, he was made the head of the new team in April. The team allegedly has several team members who previously worked on Siri.
Answer: Apple’s version of Apple will report to be a system allegedly answering general knowledge questions. The technology is said to be added to other Apple services such as Siri, Spotlight and Safari. The company is still considering whether the technology should be offered in the Standalone app.
Interestingly, in June, Craig Federighi, Senior Vice President of Apple’s Software Engineering, told the Wall Street Journal that the company was not considering the construction of “Bolt-on Chatbot”, as it was not aligned with the vision of technical giants of AI technology.
This reported answer engine can also help Apple, if Google loses its no -confidence case against the US Department of Justice, where an important issue is a one -year $ 20 billion (about 1.7 lakh crore rupees) for a year with the iPhone manufacturer to remain a default search engine on Apple devices.
