Qualampur: South -East Asian leaders have given positive response to the ASEAN Business Advisory Council (ABAC) 12 Priority Economic Deliveables (PED) aimed at deepening regional integration.
Tan Shri Nazir Razak, president of ASEAN-Bake Malaysia, said that paid are the major economic initiatives designed to promote regional development and integration, especially under the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC) column.
Efforts to deepen economic integration include promoting inclusive growth, advancing stability and expanding digital economy.
“These projects are going to take time as the authorities will have to go through policy implications and policy changes,” he told the media after the interface of ASEAN leaders with ASEAN-Bake representatives here today.
Other PED initiatives include the major ASEAN Business Antibility (ABE) and ASEAN Early Public Offer (IPO) prospectus.
Nazir said that ASEAN businesses should strengthen cooperation and seize opportunities within the regional block amid global economic uncertainty.
He said that public and private sectors in ASEAN, as a region, should work together to capitalize on emerging possibilities, he said.
“We all have to work together because we can do a lot. Certainly, we pay attention to what the government and leaders are saying, and we want to do it.
“Of course, there are some policy changes that will be useful to us and that is what we are moving forward,” he said.
The interface was held in combination with the 46th ASEAN Summit.
The 46th ASEAN Summit is starting two days from today, and Malaysia is also hosting two major high-level busyness that coincides with it-II AII ASEAN-Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Summit (GCC) Summit (GCC) Summit (GCC) Summit and Inauguration ASEAN-GCC-China Summit.
This year marked the fifth time of Malaysia as the ASEAN chair, first presided over in 1977, 1997, 2005 and 2015.
