A new video has emerged showing what may be the Louvre thieves who carried out Sunday’s broad daylight robbery at Paris’ world-famous museum.
Footage obtained by French broadcaster BFMTV reportedly shows what has been called one of the most brazen art thefts in recent memory.
The short clip shows someone inside the Louvre’s Apollo Gallery, which was home to some of the museum’s most priceless treasures.
The footage, taken by an unidentified bystander, shows a man wearing a bright yellow jacket standing near a glass display case.

The amateur footage was replayed for BFMTV, which filmed the phone’s screen and verified it on Sunday. The Associated Press has not been able to independently verify its authenticity.
According to French authorities, the thieves carried out a highly coordinated operation, which unfolded shortly after the museum opened to the public in the morning.
At around 9:30 in the morning, the thieves used a basket lift to reach the front of the Louvre, forcing a window to enter the Apollo Gallery, which displays royal jewellery.

According to reports, the group seized jewels belonging to the court of Napoleon III, including pieces from the private collection of Empress Eugénie.
Former FBI art crimes specialist Tim Carpenter told Fox News Digital, “They broke into a window and did it really brazenly. These guys are fast and moving fast with a purpose, and they breach, and they get in there really quickly.”

“The investigation has begun and a detailed list of the stolen items is being compiled,” the ministry said in a statement. “Beyond their market value, these objects have invaluable heritage and historical value.”

The Louvre remained closed Monday as investigators examined the scene and reviewed surveillance footage.
