
Violence broke out in Brussels in the new year as rioters attacked police and firefighters and set dozens of fires in the EU’s de facto capital.
Brussels police said they made at least 159 arrests during New Year’s Eve and had to intervene in more than 1,700 incidents with members of the public. Evening Report.
