Turning Point USA (TPUSA) CEO Erica Kirk spoke about her late husband’s final book and the message he wanted people of all faiths to take away from it, during a wide-ranging conversation on “Hannity” on Monday.
“He didn’t just write this book,” Kirk told Fox News host Sean Hannity. “He lived it.”
An outspoken Christian who promoted civil discourse on college campuses across the country, Charlie Kirk was “very proud” of his final book, according to the book’s publisher, Winning Team Publishing.
He had completed his last book – “Stop, in the Name of God: Why Honoring the Sabbath Will Transform Your Life” – only a month before he was murdered on September 10.

His wife of four years explains why the late Orthodox activist and TPUSA founder urged his followers to honor the Sabbath.
“In the book Charlie talks about how important it is to turn off your phone, to connect with your family,” Kirk said. “Put it in them. This is your legacy.”

Charlie’s own experience of practicing Sabbath by spending time with his family made him a “next level husband,” Erica shared.
“At first, it started with an hour, two hours,” she described. “But then once he fully incorporated it into his life, it totally took off. He became a next-level husband, which I didn’t even think was possible because he was already so incredible to me and the kids.”

Hannity, who praised Charlie as a “Bible scholar”, appreciated his friend’s book’s message about the Sabbath.
“They talked about how this is real relaxation,” he began. “And that means not watching television, too much watching. It means being present with your family. Being present with God.”

“Relax your mind, relax your heart,” Kirk replied. “Peace your soul. We are not machines. We are human beings, we have souls. We are here to make a difference and you cannot hear from God if you are constantly surrounded by other people trying to distract you from the end goal.”

“How are you able to make decisions for your family, your company, and X, Y, Z if you are overwhelmed by what the enemy wants you to do?” he asked.
Kirk argued that there is a difference between busyness and productivity.

“We can get caught up in to-do lists and think that’s productivity,” she began. “Not really. Charlie was incredible at time management.”
Charlie’s murder put into perspective how “limited” time is on Earth, Erica said, reflecting how “precious” time is.
“Are you going to invest that time in your family, invest in the eternal things that you’ll have in heaven, or are you going to waste that time arguing on the Internet and, you know, going down rabbit holes?” he asked.
While Kirk and Hannity discussed the Biblical roots of the Sabbath and even marriage as a covenant, Kirk emphasized that readers of her husband’s book do not need to be Christians to learn something from it.

“You don’t even have to be religious,” she said. “You can be a nonobservant citizen and use this book to change your life.”
Kirk’s final book is available for pre-order and will be available nationwide on Tuesday, including at WinningPublishing.com, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Amazon, Walmart, 45Books.com and other websites.
