FBI Director Kash Patel is pleased with Operation Summer Heat 2.0, and the FBI is unveiling new sweeping data that shows the crackdown on crime has been largely effective.
“The historic Operation Summer Heat, led by Dan Bongino, led to the largest crime reduction in American history, and that’s what the FBI is doubling down on,” FBI Director Kash Patel told Breitbart News exclusively. “All 56 FBI field offices across the country are fully engaged in crushing violent crime networks across the country in Summer Heat 2.0 – and at the formal halfway point, we have already arrested more than 1,500 violent criminals, made 850 drug seizures, recovered 590 kilos of cocaine, and detained more than 120 children. It’s a life-saving, righteous mission whose The FBI and this administration are dedicated – and the results speak for themselves.”
Last summer, the FBI led a crackdown on the crime – Operation Summer Heat – with then-Deputy Director Dan Bongino. While Bongino is now gone from the FBI, Patel – the bureau’s director – has doubled down and is significantly targeting criminal operations across the country.
The FBI told Breitbart News that so far this summer, more than 1,500 violent criminals have been arrested across the country and more than 850 drug busts and more than 590 kilograms of cocaine have been seized. What’s more, at least 120 children have been traced.
This summer’s action began in the Pittsburgh field office with Operation Turf War – the FBI’s initial blitz across the country as part of Summer Heat 2.0 – resulting in 32 narcotics and weapons-related arrests in West Virginia and Maryland in early June.
Patel said at the time of the effort, “Operation Turf War was the FBI responding to the call of a community that needed it most.” “This was a highly successful operation in West Virginia, arresting nearly three dozen individuals using sophisticated techniques, confidential informants, and precise collaboration with our partners across the entire FBI enterprise. This is exactly what a partnership looks like.”
Since then, more efforts have been launched across the country from coast to coast. For example, agents in the Phoenix, Arizona, field office apprehended 23 violent criminals and also rescued three child victims from the scene, according to local news reports.
13 News in Arizona reported, “In Arizona, the effort resulted in 23 violent crime arrests and the identification and rescue of three child victims in its first 30 days.”
Agents in Indianapolis captured two separate dangerous fugitives wanted on various violence and drug charges.
Fox 59/CBS 4 in Indianapolis reported, “The FBI Indianapolis Violent Crimes Task Force and other law enforcement agencies arrested Antoine Crenshaw on June 17.” “He was wanted on various outstanding warrants in Tippecanoe, Benton and Marion counties. A few days later, on June 23, the FBI Indianapolis Violent Crimes Task Force, IMPD and U.S. Marshals located and arrested Kenneth Morris, wanted on felony warrants issued in Hendricks County.”
Both of these fugitives had a number of notorious criminals before they were captured by Patel’s FBI agents. “According to court documents, Crenshaw was implicated in multiple business burglaries, including pharmacies in Benton County,” the local news outlet reported. “He was also charged with a gas station robbery in Montgomery County. Court documents linked him to a business burglary in Lafayette. After his arrest, a search turned up an AR-style pistol, a short-barreled rifle, a handgun, cash, drugs and ‘other items associated with drug trafficking activity,’ according to the FBI. Court records show he has a lengthy criminal history. Morris He was wanted on warrants for possession of methamphetamine and resisting law enforcement by strangulation. According to court documents, a deputy attempted to pull Morris over for driving at a speed of more than 100 mph and crashing into a ditch. After the crash, investigators found drugs, digital scales, cash, several firearms and body armor in his vehicle before he was caught in Indianapolis this month.
In Las Vegas, Nevada, FBI agents arrested at least seven people “allegedly connected to fraudulent COVID-19 relief loan applications,” according to local reports.
All 56 FBI field offices across the country are participating in the Operation Summer Heat 2.0 crime crackdown. The operation is now halfway through this year, and many more arrests and enforcement actions are expected in the coming weeks.
