Retired Border Patrol Chief Patrol Agent Gregory Bovino has added his voice to the list of those people after Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) said during a late-night debate on the Department of Homeland Security funding package that no one in this country respects the Border Patrol and ICE. Bovino told Breitbart Texas that the comments epitomize what the Democrat Party stands for.
Schumer made the comments in protest of a Senate Republican move to defund DHS and end the government shutdown. “America is screaming for relief from high costs, and here you are adding $140 billion to an agency that no one respects – two groups – Border Patrol and ICE that no one in this country respects,” Schumer said during Wednesday night’s session.
Bovino says he was surprised to hear New York’s longest-serving senator say something cool out loud, adding, “Schumer emboldens the left and aligns perfectly with the radicals we have seen attacking our federal agents daily as they try to enforce laws passed by Congress. He’s no different than a rioter throwing bricks at us, and he let everyone know that with this statement.” Is.”
Bovino, who retired at the end of March, led historic large-scale internal immigration campaigns in several major metropolitan areas across the United States. The veteran immigration enforcement chief says he has never experienced a time during his three-decade career when any political party strongly opposed law enforcement.
Bovino said, “Sadly, this sentiment is not just Chuck Schumer. He is the leader of the party and speaks for almost every Democrat.” “We saw it at the city and state level when there was violent opposition to what we were doing to reduce crime in sanctuary cities across the country.”
The retired El Centro sector chief fears the dangerous rhetoric will further increase the risks faced by Border Patrol and ICE agents as they perform their duties to enforce U.S. immigration laws. Bovino asserted, “Chuck Schumer’s words resonate with radicals on the street who are looking for approval to increase attacks on the men and women of the Border Patrol and ICE.”
The National Border Patrol Council (NBPC), the labor organization that represents rank-and-file agents, strongly rebuked Schumer’s comments in a social media post on Thursday. In the post, the organization defended its members against the senator’s verbal attack, saying, “Extreme left-wing attorney Chuck Schumer decided to attack and undermine Border Patrol agents and ICE officers – disrespecting the people who risk their lives to protect this country. Let’s be clear. The problem isn’t the agents on the line – it’s politicians like Schumer who are extremists who hate law and order and are unchecked.” To appease the lunatics they destroy them.
The spirit of the organization echoes that of retired Border Patrol Chief Bovino, who emphasizes, “Agents don’t make laws – they enforce them. And they do it every day in dangerous, difficult circumstances. Elected politicians like Chuck Schumer in Congress make the same laws they criticize.”
Shortly after Senator Schumer’s comments in the Senate, President Trump posted on Truth Social, writing, “Wow! Cryin’ Chuck Schumer just said for the whole world to hear, that “Nobody respects the Border Patrol or the ice.” This is one of the most disgusting, inaccurate, anti-national, and dangerous statements I have ever heard from a “professional” politician. He should immediately apologize to these great patriots, And I mean now!
