According to the official press release of the organization, Samari’s purse is setting up an emergency room, laboratory, pharmacy, important care unit and a full -scale emergency area hospital equipped with two permanent operating rooms. About 100 earthquake victims were already waiting for surgery when the team arrived.
Graham emphasized urgency: “The speed is important after a deadly earthquake like Myanmar,” he said. “We praise God that we are already able to provide surgery, while we are still constructing a full area hospital.”
One of the first patients treated was a woman who adapted her son during the collapse of a building. Graham shared, “He covered his son’s body with his body to protect him.” “She had a problem of her spine. She had to work on it, and she is recovering – she is doing well.”

The temperature in the area is more than 110 ° F with high humidity. The team lives in tents and works under disturbed circumstances. Graham said, “We provide our housing. We have our own water, we have electricity, we are self-contained, but it is a difficult task.”
Nevertheless, the team is committed. “They are organizing clinics during the day, working during the night … but our team is inspired. They are excited to serve the people of Myanmar and do it in the name of Lord Jesus Christ.”

Samari’s purse first worked in Burma, responded to Cyclone Nargis in 2008 and maintained a country office from 2017 to 2022.
“We need prayers, number one,” Graham said. “And of course, we always need financial assistance. This is a very long way from home.”
Graham said, “We want every patient to know that God loves him and he is not alone.”
