Qualampur: International Greentech and ECO product exhibition and conference Malaysia 2025 (IGEM 2025) is ready to generate RM5.5 billion in business as it returns to its 16th edition from October 15 to October 17, focusing on green technology, stability and regional leadership in climate action.
Nick Nazmi Nick Ahmed, Minister of Natural Resources and Environmental Stability, today announced the goals of IGEM 2025 during his soft launch, which is to run the infection towards a net-jero future, confirming the role of the event as a major platform for industry leaders, policy makers and stakeholders.
“Conducted by the Ministry in collaboration with Malaysian Green Technology and Climate Change Corporation (MGTC), IGEM 2025 aims to attract 250 exhibitions with 500 exhibition booths and welcome participants from 50 countries.
“This year’s theme, Race to Net Zero: Inclosure and Sustainability, Malaysia’s permanent growth and climate flexibility highlights the commitment.
“These ambitious targets build on the remarkable success of IGEM 2024, which led to a business -led by securing RM10.182 billion, attracting 500 exhibitions and crossing all expectations by attracting participants from 68 countries including China, Sweden, Singapore, South Korea, Japan and Thailand.”
He emphasized that industry cooperation is important in running stability efforts and promoting economic flexibility.
He said, “I hope to participate in more organizations and countries in this year’s IGEM. With this shared vision, let us carry forward the boundaries, pursue the new partnership, and pursue bold solutions to create a permanent, rich and flexible future for all,” he said.
In addition, the Malaysian Investment Development Authority (MIDA) under the Ministry of Investment, Trade and Industry (MITI) has played an important role in promoting Malaysia’s Green Economy, which secures RM6.3 billion in potential investment during IGEM 2024 – the highest professional leading achievement since the establishment of the exhibition.
Mida CEO Datuk Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim Sikh Abdul Majid said the event has become an important driver of investment trust.
“IGEM’s continuous increase in investment, from RM3.08 billion in 2020 to RM6.3 billion in 2024, demonstrates increasing confidence in Malaysia’s Green Economy.
“Mida, in close partnership with MGTC, is committed to attract high-value green investments, strengthens the position of Malaysia as a major stability hub.
Sikh Shamsul Ibrahim said that MIDA has seen a strong pipeline of companies presenting investment proposals, many actively engaged in discussion on permanent projects. “The agency is focusing on the trade-designed encouragement designed to attract high-effects with adequate investment value, in the future positioning Malaysia as a regional leader in green investment.”
As Malaysia has accepted the ASEAN chairmanship, Egem 2025 is expected to work as a major platform to show the country’s leadership in a green solution throughout the region.
The event will match with the first version of the Kuala Lumpur Sustainability Summit, which will bring thoughtful leaders together to discuss issues related to climate change and stability.
The summit will support ASEAN’s commitment to a permanent and flexible future, strengthening the role of Malaysia under the regional environmental leadership.
The IGEM 2025 visitors may also be ready for the third Malaysia Carbon Market Forum, which was aimed at strengthening the status of Malaysia in global carbon trade, with the aim of strengthening the status of Malaysia in global carbon business, to strengthen regional cooperation on carbon market strategies, under the ASEAN Common Carbon Framework by Bursa Malaysia.
Since its inception, IGEM has established itself as a motivational power in the green economy, attracting more than 670,000 visitors from 126 countries and producing more than RM58 billion in trade over the last 15 years.
