At the end of June, we had 2 important developments: chiron moves into taurusAnd Jupiter in Leo.
Earlier this month, the two formed a perfect square, bringing up some of our deepest vulnerabilities related to the fear of rejection, visibility, and not being accepted as we are.
What gives this transit its unique flavor is that both planets have just entered new signs. Chiron has not been in Taurus for over 4 decades. Jupiter is not in Leo since 2015.
so this is Not just another Jupiter-Chiron square. These 2 advancements have moved us into an entirely new reality – one that, for many of us, total first.
To understand what makes this Jupiter-Chiron square unique, let’s go back to what Taurus and Leo mean.
taurus vs leo
TAURUS The body has intelligence – understanding what feels safe, nutritious, real and right – and what doesn’t.
Chiron in Taurus It is ordered to restore our somatic intelligence – what the body knows before the mind provides explanations – our ability to feel what is good for us and what is not, understand our limitations, and feel good within ourselves without the need for validation or external confirmation.
Leo’s energy is different. This is not the primal, primal, intuitive wisdom of Taurus. Leo follows Gemini, the mind, and Cancer, the emotions. So by the time we reach Leo, we have gone through all four elements and developed a more comprehensive sense of self.
leo It is a developmental process where we learn to stand up and be seen as individuals.
Jupiter in Leo Then interprets the truth of the body through a larger identity story: What does it mean about me? Who am I, how am I viewed and what is expected of me?
and here it is Chiron creates square pressure points: “If I follow the truth about my body will I still be seen, loved, respected and wanted?”
Leo is ruled by the Sun, the largest body in our solar system in order of magnitude. We cannot see the sun. The sun is just there, radiating its light and warmth, making it impossible to ignore.
That’s why for Leos, seeing who they are is at the core of their experience. Not for the sake of ego stroke, contrary to some stereotypes. Not for applause. But for the experience of witnessing.
lion wound
Leo, the fixed fire sign, can’t help but radiate energy. So allowing your fire to express itself as it is, without restriction or apology, is one of its core needs.
But what happens when that glow, that pure expression of one’s energy, is not seen? Or when it is questioned?
This is frightening not necessarily because of the rejection itself, but because it touches the core of Leo’s identity.
You are not my witness, therefore I do not exist. My heat is not welcome – even if I can’t help but channel it. If my testimony is not borne, if I am rejected, then who am I?
So while Chiron in Taurus exposes the truth of our raw flesh, it also exposes Leo’s deepest vulnerabilities:
Not feeling seen or appreciated.
It feels like our sovereignty has been questioned.
Feeling that our boundaries have been crossed or we have not been treated with respect.
The more Chiron leads us into this unsafe, no-results-guarantee excavation, the more it can trigger Leo’s fear of the collapse of identity. We can see rejection where there is none, or experience rejection – real or imagined – as a direct ego death.
Jupiter in Leo, square to Chiron in Taurus
Chiron in Taurus challenges Jupiter in Leo stories. Everything we thought we knew about our identity, who we are, and what makes us valuable may suddenly be called into question.
Tendency may occur as a response to stress retreat, To Making a worst-case scenario, to save face, or taking action far in advance, In an unconscious attempt to reassert control.
“I didn’t want this anyway.” “I don’t care”.
But Chiron’s invitation is not to escape insecurity. The cause of the deep, underlying wound was a very specific one.
The power of the Sun is not to keep it shining all the time – at least not from our geocentric perspective on Earth.
The Sun warms us during the day, and then dips below the horizon so we can incarnate, integrate, and rest during the night.
An important lesson for Sun-ruled Leo is to learn how to establish with grace. To agree with the fact that its radiant warmth, although life-giving and impossible to live without, is not needed all the time.
This means it’s not okay to be the #1 person all the time. Not being visible all the time. It is not necessary all the time.
This does not make us any less than what we are. On the contrary. it take away the pressure to performThe pressure to always be there, the pressure to constantly prove your light.
When we learn to retreat and go into the anonymous and invisible underworld, it can feel incredibly unsafe.
But that’s what helps us relax – to become more, not less, than who we are.
Chiron and Vulnerability
Vulnerability feels scary, Especially for a fixed sign like Leo, where stability is very central.
but vulnerability serve a purpose. Vulnerability is what we feel when the old identity no longer fits, but the new identity has not yet settled in.
This is the part of us that takes action before our brain can figure out the plan. On some level, we already know there is “more.”
We don’t know exactly what is – hence the vulnerability. But longing has awakened, and it has become impossible to maintain the old reality.
Vulnerability requires being a little less flashy, less polished – and more raw in the truth of the present moment, whatever that may be.
Even if it makes us feel small, even if it seems to dim our light, even if the outcome is completely unknown.
We don’t always have to provide. Always be the one others rely on. Always be generous. It’s okay to wait. The world will not only survive without us – it may also learn to do its job.
Jupiter Square Chiron – When the Truth Triggers Rejection
There is a distinct Chiron in Taurus flavor in this vulnerability: What really feels right right now? Why does my body say yes? say no? What makes me feel safe? vulnerable?
These are the questions we may have forgotten to ask. Because the pressure to present the version of life that we saw, accepted, or needed also meant that we had to check in with our carnal intelligence.
Since Chiron entered Taurus, the longing to reconnect with our bodies, our senses, and our sense of security in what feels right has become harder to ignore.
Yet, at the same time, because Jupiter in Leo completes this process, we are asked to stop it. uncomfortable dilemma.
Ambition has been awakened unambiguously – but also our deep feelings of insecurity and rejection.
It’s like: “Ah, this feels right” but also “The world is rejecting my new found truth” – so that the truth, while real, doesn’t feel inappropriate, inconvenient, or even possible.
Jupiter Square Chiron – The Story Behind the Discomfort
All Jupiter is inviting with difficult aspects See the story behind the restlessness.
Jupiter, the first social planet, is the planet of beliefs – which is really the type of narrative that we have been brought up in – the culture of the time, the customs, the social codes, the unwritten and written laws of what is right and what is wrong.
Unlike Mercury, which reads reality in real time through direct observation and personal mental processing, Jupiter is a broader story into which we have already been brought.
The story we may not even know about – the story we may never have thought to question, because it was there from the beginning.
So when Chiron comes into Taurus Ambition Becoming more aware of yourself, paying more attention to what feels right, the story of Jupiter in Leo automatically shifts into gear.
Why is this unfair? Why is it too much? Why will this not be accepted? Why should it cost us love, approval, visibility or belonging?
Remember, we’re talking about Jupiter-Chiron Social class – Not a supporting aspect like a trine or sextile.
But the gift of class lies precisely in the dissonance it creates. Yes, there is discomfort. Rejection. Feeling exposed. The feeling that something is wrong, that we are doing something wrong.
But it is this tension that forces us to look at the story beneath it:
- What if discomfort is not evidence that something is wrong, but rather evidence that an old story is being exposed?
- What if the answer is not to heal the vulnerability, but to persist long enough for the body to tell us what is true?
- What if we could trust our inner wisdom before we know where it will lead?
Jupiter square Chiron’s invitation is to uncover the old story, so that a deeper truth can finally be felt, trusted, and lived.
