
Petaling Jaya: MCW Tech Sdn Bhd, the Malaysian leader in sustainable coatings technology, is partnering with Bahrain’s KAR Group to establish a state-of-the-art IonPaint manufacturing facility.
A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 9 January at a ceremony in the presence of Shazril Zahiran, Malaysia’s Ambassador to Bahrain.
The initiative is in line with Bahrain’s Vision 2030, which prioritizes carbon emissions reduction and adoption of environmentally friendly practices, as well as Malaysia’s National Industrial Master Plan 2030, which seeks to advance economic complexity, achieve net-zero emissions and emphasizes on strengthening manufacturing capabilities. Global competitiveness.
Together with KAR Group, MCW Tech is taking an important step towards a more sustainable future for the sector by introducing IonPaint, an ESG-compliant and ESG-sustainable product that embodies sustainability principles.
Recognized for innovation and environmental leadership, IonPaint has received the Best Green Product and Technology Award from the Malaysia Green Building Council, an honor also supported by the World Green Building Council. It has also earned certification from the Japan Association of Ion Research and Application, Swiss SGS, China CMA, Hong Kong HKPC and Singapore Green Label, underscoring its global environmental credentials.

The upgraded IonPaint facility will leverage state-of-the-art IonTech nanotechnology developed using eco-friendly materials sourced from Germany, Japan and Australia. By producing air-purifying coatings that eliminate harmful pollutants, the facility will enhance regional air quality while adhering to global standards for green manufacturing.
