Meta platforms have appointed the co-producers of the Shengzia Jhao, the co-producer of the chatgipt, as its superintendent as the chief scientist of the lab, CEO Mark Zuckerberg said on Friday, as the company intensifies its push in Advanced AI.
“In this role, Shengzia will set the research agenda and scientific direction to work directly with me and Alex for our new lab,” Zuckerberg wrote in a threads post, referring to Meta’s Chief AI Officer Alexandr Wang, which Juckerberg hired from Startup Scale AI when Meta had made a big stake in it.
A former research scientist in Zhao, Openai, including several mini models of Catgpt, GPT-4 and Openai,, 4.1 and O3.
He is one of the many researchers, who have moved from Openi to Meta in recent weeks, a broad talent is part of the weapon race as Zuckerberg has hired aggressively from rivals to shut down the difference in advanced AI. Meta has offered some of the most attractive pay packages and striking startup deals of Silicon Valley to draw top researchers, a strategy that follows the great performance of its Lama 4 model.
Meta recently launched Superintendent Lab to work on its Lama model and prolonged artificial general intelligence ambitions. According to the Zhao Threads Post, the lab co-founder, which is operated separately from the fair, led the Meta’s established AI Research Division led by Deep Learning Pioneer Yan Lakeun.
Zuckerberg has stated that the Meta aims to build a “full general intelligence” and release its work as an open source – a strategy that has attracted both praise and anxiety within the AI community.
